The "hard" bit is remembering the password of the home router to setup a port forwarding rule, so that the Nextcloud server can be seen from the outside world: a trivial redirect of port 443 to your Raspberry Pi local IP address.
Now must not forget to setup a cron job for daily backups ...

Dear @nextcloud users/admins out there, what would you recommend for a fresh #NextCloud setup:
1️⃣ End-to-end encryption of *some* folders: Using the "native" #E2EE app or an external encryption client? Why? (I have read the GitHub thread, partly.)
2️⃣ For collaboration on rich documents, what should I use? I used #Collabora #CODE many years ago, but #OnlyOffice seems to have taken over. (For non-E2EE folders only, obviously.)

Some nice progress this morning on a remote #Nextcloud CLI.
This doesn't require adding an app or anything special on the Nextcloud server side. It reads regular connection credentials from environment variables.
Coming up next for this thing - the ability to download and upload files from a Nextcloud server from CLI.
I'll probably stick it up on GitHub soon in case anyone wants to collab with me on this or otherwise test it.

Overall, I'm really happy with the experience. It took some effort and cost some money to get things set up, but everything works about as well as the Google equivalents and the agency feels great.
In particular, I can't imagine using the web these days without uBlock Origin. Every time I see someone else's web experience I just want to say "you live like this?"
I still haven't moved away from YouTube / YouTube Music. At this point, I'm not sure I will. I know there's some functional pirate utilities, but my fam uses the subscription and I'm not super interested in trying to maintain a whole media center. Open to suggestions, tho.

This evening I fixed something that had been annoying me about the #facerecognition app UI in #Nextcloud with a bit of #javascript.
A race condition where slower queries would overwrite newer queries for an autocomplete drop-down, a condition more likely to happen the more names and images you have in your instance.
